THE LAST DAY TO HAVE YOUR SAY Tomorrow, the GMB ballot on industrial action in local government to secure a better pay offer will close. Today is your LAST CHANCE to return your vote and have your say. 92% of GMB members rejected the initial offer on the basis that it was unfair and unequal. After a decade of austerity, it is not credible to offer the biggest cash rises to the Chief Executives and the "top brass", who are already on huge salaries. Despite making more money available for this year's pay deal, NOT A PENNY of this new money has been directed to those on the lowest pay grades. We need to bring COSLA back to the table with an offer that values those workers that need it most, those on the front line who work every day to keep our local services running. That's why we're asking you to vote YES for industrial action. Agree with us? Speak to your colleagues and encourage them to get their YES vote in the post TODAY!

UPDATED - GMB Scotland Statement GMB Responds To Developments In Anti-Semitism Attack Against Union Organiser “The SNP’s suspension of Mr Wardell was the only logical course of action to take. GMB will also be contacting Police Scotland to establish what further action can be taken. “However, the apology from Councillor Anderson is insufficient in light of the earlier defence of his comments. We believe this is contrived and insincere. He should be sacked from his elected position and his political membership should be suspended. “As we said earlier, no political party has clean hands on the issue of anti-semitism but nobody should need any reminders that anti-semitism is on the rise and we in GMB are clear that it is absolutely intolerable. “The Councillor’s position is untenable and if he cannot do the right thing himself then the SNP must take that decision for him.”

GMB Scotland member in local government? The ballot for industrial action to secure a better pay offer is well underway, and you should soon receive your ballot, either in your workplace or through the post. 92% of GMB members rejected the initial offer from COSLA on the basis that it was unfair and unequal, handing the biggest cash rises to the "top brass", the Chief Executives who are already on huge salaries. In light of this, the latest offer is an insult. Despite making more money available for this year's pay deal, NOT A PENNY of this new money has been directed to those on the lowest pay grades. The original offer was unfair and unequal, this latest offer stretches the local government pay gap yet wider. That's why we're asking you to vote YES for industrial action, and bring COSLA back to the table with an offer that values those workers that need it most after a decade of austerity. Agree with us? Share with your colleagues and encourage them to vote YES!

"I have been a home carer for 14 years now, I really loved my job, and the elderly always had a story to tell. Some don't have family, so they love to have someone just listen and tell them what's going on in the world. The pressure that has come the past few years has been so hard. It has taken such a toll on my health that I have been off work since March, and been hard financially as I'm also a single parent. I've never been in this situation. We were told in 2006 that things were going to be sorted out then, how wrong we were to trust them." Next week's Glasgow Women's Strike will see thousands of Home Carers like Rebecca strike for equal pay.

LISTEN: GMB's Gavin Smith speaks to BBC Scotland about a long-lasting culture of bullying and harassment in NHS Highland. GMB regards this situation to be the most serious failure of staff governance from any NHS board since the Scottish Government and NHS Scotland was created. GMB have raised a collective dispute, and we are calling for an independent, external and objective review, to ensure NHS Highland staff feel secure that they can report issues without intimidation or retribution.
