PTS Journey Update

To all PTS staff

Dear Member,

We have received numerous concerns around the lack of consultation and notice of the reduction in social distancing in PTVs.

GMB submitted a collective grievance that staff were not well informed or properly consulted before these changes were introduced. We asked for a status quo till we could work through those issues that was initially granted. The status quo however was withdrawn the following morning on the basis SAS are following the current guidance.

This has come about through the reduction of social distancing from 2m to 1m as of the 19th of July in Scotland. England has been using the 1m guidance for some time in relation to health care settings.

We raised our concerns around the health and safety of staff and asked for a copy of the risk assessments that had been carried out prior to this change. We will continue with a formal grievance and let you know what happens.

In the meantime if any member of staff feels they are at risk due to lack of training or information on this change please record and datix your concerns and inform your line manager.

Please be mindful of section 44 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 that is there to protect your health and safety if you feel you are being put at risk.

Regards
